About DNSChecked

How DNSChecked compares DNS answers across resolvers, how to read its results, and how to contact the project.

What the checker does

DNSChecked compares DNS answers returned by the resolvers listed in the checker. Enter a domain name or IP address, select a record type, and run a check. Results arrive separately for each resolver, so you can inspect differences while the remaining lookups finish.

Country and continent pages show a configured selection of resolvers. The map displays their configured locations and links to the same result rows; it does not measure the physical path taken by your internet connection.

Reading the results

A successful answer means that the selected resolver returned records for that lookup. Different answers can reflect caching, record changes, or resolver behavior. A failed lookup, NXDOMAIN, and an empty answer are separate states and should be read alongside the returned details.

A sample of resolvers cannot establish what every network sees. Use the results with your authoritative DNS records and TTL settings when investigating a change. This tool does not change DNS records or guarantee a propagation deadline.

Using the site

The checker can be used without creating an account in this interface. Change the language from the header, choose a region from the directories, and use the result filters and map to inspect a completed or running check.

Promotional VPS and CDN links are marked Sponsored. They lead to external providers, whose services and policies are separate from DNSChecked.
